Sakkari described Wuhan as a "special place" where she achieved her first significant wins against players like Caroline Wozniacki, Elena Vesnina, and Alizé Cornet, which helped her enter the top 50 rankings for the first time. She noted the passage of time, stating, "It feels like it was a century ago."
